Monday Night Live!! Q&A with Frank Ferrante of May I Be Frank

So last weeks Monday Night Live presentation was a screening of May I Be Frank.
From their website: ”

May I Be Frank documents the transformation of Frank Ferrante’s life. Frank is 54 years old, obese, depressed and addicted. He stumbles into a local raw, organic and vegan restaurant in San Francisco, Café Gratitude. When Ryland, a server at Café Gratitude asks Frank “What is one thing you want to do before you die?” Frank replies, “I want to fall in love one more time, but no one will love me looking the way I do”.

Ryland, his brother Cary, and Conor, his best friend, are inspired by the possibility of helping Frank. For the next 42 days, Frank will eat only raw food, practice gratitude, visit local holistic practitioners, and get a weekly colonic. Ryland, Conor, and Cary get to support Frank’s miraculous transformation. Frank gets a new body, a clearer mind, and most importantly, a soaring spirit. May I Be Frank documents the essence of the human condition and what it truly means to fall in love again.” (more…)

Monday Night Live! Check Out Dr Elson Haas’s Video!

This week’s video presentation was of Dr Elson Haas. Shea said “It was great to have a chance to listen to someone who has decades of experience pioneering the integrative health movement. After speaking about a range of topics, including digestion and food sensitivities, he opened up the floor for question so that he could address issues that the audience was interested in. It’s great to hear from an MD who truly believes that good health begins with a good diet.” I agree. I wish all MD’s believed like Dr Haas. Dr Haas said he is writing a new book on health care reform. He said that the key to health care reform is people taking responsibility for their own health. I totally agree with this. It saddens me to hear almost daily of friends and family going to the dr for sometimes nothing more than the common cold. I treat everything at home. When we go to the dr it is for stitches, xrays, or other emergencies. Yet I can’t get health care for my family. We use the health care system way less than at least 90% of society and there are 9 of us here. Something is wrong with this picture.
I enjoyed Dr Haas’s presentation. I think you will too! (more…)

Monday Night Live!!!!!Check Out Heather Haxo Phillip’s Video!

Heather Haxo Phillips of Raw Bay Area.com put on a wonderful presentation about how to survive the holidays while living the raw food lifestyle. She also demonstrated how to make an amazing looking nut cheese. I can’t wait to give it a try. I learned about using probiotics to ferment my cheese. I learned some good tips for getting through the holidays. We are the only vegans in our family (not to mention high raw) so it makes the holidays a little bit tricky.
She answered many questions. I now have more of an idea of how to make a raw vegan egg nog- for that I am grateful- and so are my kids! Click on Heather’s picture to learn more about her. (more…)

Monday Night Live!!!!!Only 3 more days to watch Rhio’s Video!

I love Rhio. She spoke on Genetically Engineered Foods. A great topic and I learned alot. I believe that we need to start growing more and more of our food and we need to start standing up against this travesty that is happening in our country. The more we grow our own and the less we buy genetically engineered food someone should get the hint. It is about money.
Rhio wrote Hooked on Raw and has a wonderful dvd called What’s Not Cooking in Rhio’s Kitchen. Rhio’s video will be up until 10/13/2010 Midnight. (more…)
