Absolutely Abeba’s Edible Treats
Posted by admin on 02 14th, 2011

Everything looks delicious.. We have tried a variety of
Abeba’s krackers (she sent me some samples) oh my goodness… so good. My 16 year old son almost ate them all. Then I came home and made more from her recipes.. We loved every recipe we tried. You will not be disappointed with any recipe from Abeba. The kookies in this book are made nut free for those who are allergic or those who are wanting to avoid a lot of nuts in their diets. Click
HERE to see some videos of Abeba and her krackers.

Hot Chefs, Cool Kitchen Part 1
Posted by admin on 02 13th, 2011

This week I watched 2 video demonstrations from
Hot Chefs, Cool Kitchen. The teacher for these demo’s was
Cherie Soria. I was so impressed by her teaching skills that I can’t wait to learn more from her again. I wish I could afford to go to Living Light Culinary Institute and take her raw chef course. I would be in raw food heaven!

Raw Fusion by LindaJoy Rose
Posted by admin on 01 30th, 2011

I am very excited about this book-
Raw Fusion “Better Living Through Living Foods” by LindaJoy Rose, Ph.D. This
book emphasizes a lifestyle I have been sharing with others for a while now- melding the raw food diet with the cooked vegan diet in a healthy way. Mixing the best of both worlds. I am an advocate of the high raw diet. When we eat a cooked meal- the mixing of raw foods with the most nutritious cooked foods- that will digest easily is the best way to go. Raw Fusion will teach you how to do just that. It is chock full of information. I feel it should be the first r
aw food book a person gets. It will help you get through the transition. Raw Fusion Recipes is another great book- full of amazing recipes. Click
HERE to check out 2 Raw Fusion meal quick hits.
From
Raw Fusion “Raw Fusion is a hybrid of the best of the raw foods world, intermingled with an informed and conscious mainstream lifestyle. Individuals who find a high raw diet too limiting can find ways to integrate more variety into their meals without compromising nutrition. High raw foodists seeking healthy ways to add cooked foods into their diets will enjoy the versatility and variety of these tips. Families or individuals accustomed to more mainstream meals, but searching for tasty and convenient ways to increase their nutritional intake, will be surprised at how effortlessly one can fuse more raw ingredients into meals.”

We are huge Isa Chandra Mosokowitz fans here. We have all of her books. I was so excited when Da Capo Press emailed me about reviewing her new book. A book on low-fat vegan recipes- fast and filling not to mention tastes great! They all look so good.. One of our faves is the Lettuce wraps with hoison and mustard tofu. Yum!

One Magic Square by Lolo Houbein

I am so excited about this
book. We are moving in a month and I plan on using this
book in planning my garden. Last year I only had a small area to garden and this year there is already a garden bed with room for more. I can’t wait. As a raw foodist who is on a tight budget- a garden is a necessity.
A very cool thing about this book is that it comes with 30 plot designs to get you started. Anti-cancer plots, pasta/pizza plots, the soup plot, and the curry plot to just name a few.
