Warming Up to Living Foods

Warming Up to Living Foods is written by Elysa Markowitz and published by Book Publishing Co.
This book has a lot of great looking recipes in it. I love how it is set up- Each section gives you choices for 7 days. So you could make a menu plan for the whole week. Makes it easy, doesn’t it!?
It is an older book- published in 1998 but I got a lot of great ideas from it. I think it would be a great book for someone new to the raw food diet that wants a menu mapped out for them. (more…)

Smoothies and Smoozies for Life by Revvell P Revati

Smoothies and Smoozies for Life by Revvell P Revati. A wonderful book full of raw food goodness.. I was leaving the house the other day and my daughter asked me what to make for lunch- I said “How about smoothies?” I handed her Revvell’s book. I love a book that the recipes are simple enough for my children to have fun in the kitchen. I don’t think they made smoothies for lunch but this book will stay on the counter to be used when mom is gone. One book loaded with easy but delicious recipes that a child with a good knowledge of how to work a blender or food processor will be able to make with confidence! Don’t think that these recipes will only appeal to children. They all look delicious! The resources at the end of the book also make this book a invaluable tool! This book should be in every raw foodies library! A small book that packs a powerful punch! (more…)

Absolutely Abeba’s Krazy Krackers

Yummy crackers! Crispy, crunchy raw crackers! Thanks to Abeba’s Absolutely Abeba’s Krazy Kracker recipes you can have just that!
Our favorite so far is the bbq chips. I am going to post a video below showing the crackers I got started- but I am only showing you this to show you how not to make them- I spooned them onto the teflexx sheet and then spread them around a bit. Instead just take your spoon and drop the batter onto the tray and leave it. You will understand what I mean when you watch the video. I fit 36 crackers on 1 dehydrator tray.

By the way I said in the video that the recipe made more batter than expected- but it was because I was spreading out my batter- and using less than I should have. (more…)

Absolutely Abeba’s Lip Smackin’ Favorites

I love Abeba and her krazy krackers! She is a lovely lady with a lovely heart. Boy does she ever love crackers!
Her enthusiasm over raw crackers has gotten me back in the kitchen to try her krazy krackers and to make a few of my own.
Our favorite is the onion rings! I made 9 trays worth and sent a big bag to my hubby who is on a business trip- he loves them too! The kids have been munching away.
I am going to post a couple of my videos that I made on onion ring making day and when they were finished. Make sure to check out Abeba’s videos on her website- click HERE! (more…)

Hooked on Raw by Rhio

Hooked on Raw by Rhio “Rejuvenate Your Body and Soul With Nature’s Living Foods” should be a staple in every raw foodists library. The chapter on spice blends from scratch is particularly exciting to me, but the whole book is amazing. I recently reviewed her dvd “What’s Not Cooking in Rhio’s Kitchen” and was hooked on Rhio. I love her joyfulness. This book was published by Book Publishing Company. (more…)
