Rustic Crust

I was so excited when this box arrived at my door a few days ago. These crusts and sauce are from Rustic Crust . I knew the crusts were coming but I didn’t realize that they did ready made sauces as well. Each box has 3 packs of pizza sauce in it- each pack of sauce is enough for 1 pizza. It sure made pizza day soooo much easier. The most time consuming part of it was the actual baking. I assembled all pizzas while the first one was in the oven back. Then I just kept baking pizzas. We tried the whole wheat, 6 grain, the crispy thin crust, the italian herb and the great grains. One thing we found was that it takes longer for vegan cheese to melt completely and we fought to keep the crusts from getting too crisp. I even put them on pans rather than directly on the stone and that didn’t help much- so the flavor was good but they were crispy. The ones that were the best was the Italian Herb because it was the thickest crust. This was not the fault of the crust- milk based cheese melt fast vegan cheeses do not. So, cook according to the package directions but the last minute or 2 put under the broilder to melt the cheese. The flavors of the crust was very good and so was the sauce. I will be ordering from the company in the future. It was nice to have the premade crusts for a semi quick meal.
The company provides a healthy pizza crust using quality ingredients. I am excited to have found them. For those of you who are not vegan but are eating less meat- they have a whole line of vegetarian pizzas that look great! I love the sauce packs- that makes it even easier to have pizza night- especially with kids. Just rip open the top and squeeze onto crust, spread around with the back of a spoon. Top with favorite toppings. We used vegan cheese, vegan sausage from Dixie Diner, and veggies.
