Smart Dogs from Lightlife and Bubbies Pickle Relish
Yesterday we decided to have chili dogs for our Sunday family meal. Yummy! I picked up some Smart Dogs from LightLife . We love Smart Dogs. Whenever I am near a Trader Joe’s I stop in and stock up for the freezer as they have them for the best price. They are fat free, each dog has 45 calories and 9 grams of protein. They are very good. The kids love them. We do not miss the other hot dogs at all. They have a jumbo version of these Smart Dogs. Each Jumbo dog is 80 calories and 17 grams of protein and still no fat.
I topped my Smart Dog with Bubbies Dill Pickle Relish. Jeff said he wasn’t a pickle relish fan but he would try it for the sake of the review. He loved it, he is now a dill pickle relish fan- at least for Bubbies. It is not as strong as other dill pickle relishes which is why he thought he didn’t like pickle relish. Bubbies relish is full of flavor, they use no vinegar or preservatives.
From LightLife’s website:
As many as 65% of U.S. adults were overweight in the year 2000, and the number of overweight children has doubled in the last thirty years. Veggie foods are a good low-cal alternative to meat in your diet, plus they’re tasty and delicious. Just a few more veggies in your day can help benefit your long-term health.
While many factors affect heart disease, twenty-five grams of soy protein a day, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease.
Research shows a diet low in fat and high in complex carbohydrates (found only in plant foods), as part of a healthy lifestyle, can help control type 2 diabetes.
Low fat diets rich in fiber-containing grain products, fruits and vegetables may reduce the risk of some types of cancer, a disease associated with many factors.
Comparing those who eat meat to vegetarians, veggie lovers may have a lower risk of exhibiting high blood pressure. Studies suggest that when meat eaters with high blood pressure switch to an all-veggie diet their blood pressure drops.
