Today we tried out
Vans Waffles. We tried the
Belgian Multigrain and
Organic Blueberry both were very, very good!
I wish they came in a industrial pack for large families. The youngest ate his
blueberry waffle with just a little butter like toast. The rest ate theirs with a homemade strawberry syrup. I took the opportunity to try out the
Stevia Baking Blend from
NuNaturals. You can use it cup for cup in place of sugar. I must say- I love it. The syrup didn’t thicken up like it does with regular sugar but that was ok by me- I am getting the benefit of sweetness without the health dangers of too much sugar in the diet. I just used a little bit of a cornstarch and water slurry to thicken it up. The kids liked it and the new kid in the family who has not been a vegan until a few days ago liked it too. The
waffles were awesome. Better than the big name brand frozen waffle and so much healthier. I will definitely watch for them to be on sale so I can get some more in the future. The
stevia baking blend I was so excited to try… I will try it in a cookie recipe to see how it works for that. In the syrup it was just fine. If you have diabetes you need to try
stevia. From what I have tried so far there is no bitter aftertaste- better than artificial sweeteners in taste and so much better for your bodies. I will be posting more on
stevia in future posts. I have so more information to read. So stay tuned.
