Alternative Baking Company

Today I received this in the mail:

From their website:

Ever wonder how the best cookie
in the world would tast
e?

Alternative Baking Company is a California Corporation, formed in 1995. We are dedicated to helping make the dairy and meat industries obsolete by providing gourmet quality, vegan alternatives to traditional baked goods. Oh, yes, and we’re having fun in the process!

Our cookies look and taste like the very best traditionally made cookies – no kidding! — but contain no dairy, no eggs, no trans fats, no hydrogenated oils, no cholesterol, no animal ingredients, no artificial ingredients, and no refined sugar. We also have a wheat free line of cookies. We use ORGANIC FLOUR, ORGANIC SUGAR, as well as other premium, natural ingredients and make our cookies in small, handmade batches. The result is a soft and chewy cookie that is both decadently good and good for you. Our cookies are available in thousands of health food stores across the country and also in many mainstream grocery stores, convenience stores, and coffee shops. We are especially proud of our many mainstream customers since our success with them is, in our opinion, the best evidence that we are succeeding with our mission. We’ve included some comments we have received about our products…simply go to each cookie flavor to take a look.

We figure it may take a few more years before our cookies are available in every store on the planet and the dairy/meat industry utterly (pun intended) capitulates. Until then, we’ve decided to let you order our products directly via the web!

So I had 3 cookies to try.. The above Outrageous Oatmeal Raisin, Colossal Chocolate Chip and Coconut Macaroon. Since I would have 7 tasters today I decided to cut each cookie like a pizza- the hubs would get 2 pieces of each cookie and the kids each got one. Let me just say they loved each and every one. My husband couldn’t believe they were vegan. The kids kept asking for more. The favorites were the chocolate chip and coconut.. Go figure. When I saw the labeling I remembered that I tried their Snickerdoodle, Lemon Poppyseed, and Peanut butter cookies at the conference I cooked at. I loved them both but was tickled pink to be eating a vegan snickerdoodle. They were awesome!

You can order these cookies online. Click on any of the pictures and they will take you to the website- where you can order online. They come in packages of 5 cookies for $12.50 and they are big cookies. One cookie is enough. I will be ordering from them in the future. If you are looking for a great vegan cookie you will not be disappointed.
